The Energy Technologies Working Group develops next-generation electrochemical technologies and processes, including hydrogen production, fuel cells, advanced catalysts, batteries, electrochemical CO2-reduction and renewable energy systems. Our research combines fundamental electrochemistry with practical applications in collaboration with leading universities, research organizations, and industrial partners across Europe and beyond.

We are seeking an outstanding Postdoctoral Researcher in Electrochemistry to join our growing international team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious scientist to lead innovative research, publish in leading scientific journals, supervise young researchers, and contribute to technologies that support the global transition to sustainable energy and materials.

Your Role

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will play a leading role in experimental electrochemical research, helping to shape the scientific direction of ongoing projects while working alongside internationally recognized researchers. You will coordinate laboratory activities, mentor MSc and PhD students, publish high-impact scientific papers, and contribute to successful national and European research proposals.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate electrochemical research activities.
  • Design, perform, and optimize advanced electrochemical experiments.
  • Apply a broad range of electrochemical characterization techniques, including cyclic voltammetry (CV), linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), chronoamperometry, chronopotentiometry, and related methods.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data using advanced scientific methods.
  • Supervise MSc and PhD students and support their research activities.
  • Publish research results in high-impact international peer-reviewed journals.
  • Present research at leading international conferences.
  • Collaborate with academic and industrial partners in national and international projects.
  • Contribute to the preparation of competitive research proposals and grant applications.
  • Support the continuous development of laboratory capabilities and research infrastructure.

We Are Looking For

You should have:

  • A PhD in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of electrochemical methods.
  • Proven experience in independent experimental research.
  • A strong scientific publication record.
  • Experience writing scientific articles and technical reports.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to coordinate laboratory work.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring students.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Experience with Raman Spectroscopy and other physical characterization methods will be considered an advantage.
