In order to meet the requirements of modern medicine, the University medicine offers its students an education in human and dental medicine, as well as bachelor's and master's degrees in medical biotechnology, that is in keeping with current medical knowledge. Teaching related to real life practice in small groups and education in innovative subjects dealing with medical-technical problems are an integral part of the courses. The University medicine's research focuses on the general theme of "regenerative medicine": biomaterial and implant research; stem cell research; interaction of biomaterials, cells and tissue; and movement disorders related to neurodegenerative diseases. The University medicine takes part in the university's departments of "Science and Technology of Life, Light and Matter" as well as "Aging Science and Humanities".
