The Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences (ELSC), part of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is revolutionizing neuroscience research. 

Tackling the greatest scientific challenge of the 21st century, The ELSC innovation center was founded on the belief that brain research must be interdisciplinary, and must therefore combine theoretical, biological and cognitive approaches in neuroscience. As such, our team is made up of a powerful mix of top scientists from different disciplines with a broad interdisciplinary understanding, who lead groundbreaking research on the relationships between brain computations, neuronal circuits, and behavior. 

A global leader in computational neuroscience, the Center boasts a unique theoretical and quantitative approach around which the widest, most diverse academic program in the field has been structured. Covering a broad range of disciplines, from anatomy and physiology to computer science, physics and cognitive sciences, the Center provides the most promising students with a strong foundation, not only for the benefit of today’s groundbreaking research, but in an effort to develop the next generation of brain researchers who will carry its vision into the future.
