Your Responsibilities

  • Writing a doctoral thesis on Austrian Civil law, CISG, European private law, possibly also in Company law, Private International law and the use of Comparative law as a method, and/or law and economics. An interest in a comparative law topic in the context of tenancy law and / or company law is an advantage
  • Participation in research projects of the team of Prof. Doralt
  • Teaching and active participation in a support function in the teaching of the institute and Prof. Doralt
  • Exams and active student support
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures

Your Profile

  • Completed master's degree in law with excellent grades and, correspondingly, in depth knowledge on Austrian civil law and knowledge of the CISG is an asset.
  • Very good skills in civil law and related areas of law with a strong focus on Austrian law
  • Excellent knowledge and above-average academic performance, especially in the areas of civil law, corporate law and civil procedure law
  • Excellent command of German and very good written and spoken English (knowledge of other foreign languages would be an advantage)
  • Work experience at a university as a student assistant is an asset, equally so the previous participation in Moot Courts, in particular in the Vis Moot Court (desirable, but not a strict requirement)
  • Teaching skills (desirable)
  • Comprehensive IT skills
  • Communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Resilience and problem-solving skills

  • Complete proof of completion of the degree programme required in the job advertisement.
  • Language certificate as required by the curriculum, provided that the doctoral programme is not completed in the candidate’s first language.

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.865,40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
