YOUR TASKS

  • You will devote at least 70% of your appointment to scientific research in the field of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy, more specifically with a focus on 24‑hour behavior (physical activity, sedentary behavior, and sleep) in populations with chronic internal conditions.
  • You will contribute to teaching activities at the bachelor’s and master’s level.
  • You will supervise master’s students in the context of their master’s thesis and internship.
  • You will supervise doctoral students.
  • Writing project proposals to attract external funding is an integral part of your responsibilities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

  • You hold a doctoral degree (PhD) in Health Sciences (subfields: Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy, Movement and Sports Sciences).
  • You must meet the diploma requirements by the date of appointment. For diplomas obtained outside the European Union, an equivalency certificate from NARIC must be provided.
  • Your research has focused on the area of 24-hour behavior in chronic internal disorders.
  • Experience with compositional data analysis and time reallocations is an asset.
  • Experience with the development and evaluation of interventions is an asset.
  • You have distinguished yourself as a promising researcher during your doctoral work.
  • You have a strong interest in supervising students in academic and/or advanced academic programs.
  • You have relevant scientific publications in widely disseminated international and national peer‑reviewed journals.
  • You have additional professional activities that contribute directly or indirectly to scientific research, including research experience and clinical experience in the specified domain.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a temporary appointment of 3 years. A second appointment of up to 3 years can follow, subject to a favourable evaluation of the first term.
  • Even if you have already been appointed earlier (whether or not at another university and whether or not in the same field of discipline) in a first term of up to three years, you can apply.
  • The second appointment does not have to be immediately connected to a first term Your appointment will start on 1 October 2026 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined according to salary scale AAP5. More information about our salary scales.

The certificate can be requested via www.naricvlaanderen.be/en. For diplomas awarded in the UK before January 31st of 2020, a certificate of equivalence is not required
