Description of the research activity:
The RAISE project aims to evaluate the combined effectiveness of regenerative practices to improve soil ecological functions and irrigation systems based on soil–plant sensing technologies in vineyard management. The activities are carried out under the supervision of a tutor. Among the evaluation methods, UAV-based data acquisition using hyperspectral and thermal cameras is included. The candidate will be responsible for image analysis, the computation of vegetation indices (e.g., NDVI, PRI, MCARI, CWSI), and the development of innovative approaches for spectral signature analysis, with the aim of identifying reflectance bands sensitive to the applied treatments and enabling the transfer of the methodology to areas beyond the experimental sites. The candidate will also verify the consistency between remote sensing data and ground-based measurements. Collaboration with the company responsible for UAV flights and with project partners will be required to communicate results for both scientific and outreach purposes.
