About the FSTM
The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.
Through its dual mission of teaching and research, the FSTM seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge and train new generations of responsible citizens in order to better understand, explain and advance society and environment we live in.
The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine of the University of Luxembourg is looking a Full or Associate Professor in Cell Biology/Molecular Biology for its Department of Life Sciences and Medicine (DLSM).
The rank will depend on the professional qualification of the candidate and, in case of an appointment as Associate Professor, an evaluation will take place after five years for promotion to Full Professor.
The Department of Life Sciences and Medicine (DLSM) belongs to the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine of the University of Luxembourg. We combine basic and translational, biomolecular and computational research to address critical questions in human health and disease with a focus on cancer biology. We investigate mechanisms that govern tumor initiation, migration and invasion, metastasis, cell cycle control, the tumor microenvironment and drug resistance by using a combination of experimental in vitro, in vivo and in silico approaches. Next to its research mission, DLSM is coordinating all teaching programs in Life Sciences, Medicine and Nursing.
The DLSM cooperates with all major national players in the field of biomedical research in Luxembourg and numerous institutions abroad. The ongoing expansion of health and medicine as a strategic priority of the University provides opportunities for broadening its research topics to include cutting-edge trends in biomedical Life Sciences.
