The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character. The University was founded in 2003 and counts more than 6,700 students and more than 2,000 employees from around the world. The University’s faculties and interdisciplinary centres focus on research in the areas of Computer Science and ICT Security, Materials Science, European and International Law, Finance and Financial Innovation, Education, Contemporary and Digital History. In addition, the University focuses on cross-disciplinary research in the areas of Data Modelling and Simulation as well as Health and System Biomedicine.
Within the University, the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is a highly interdisciplinary research centre (IC), integrating experimental biology and computational biology approaches in order to develop the foundation of a future predictive, preventive and personalized medicine.
The Metabolomics Platform is a mass spectrometry service facility within the LCSB. Its main goal is to offer analytical services to research groups at the LCSB and in Luxembourg. Our vision is to not only act as a measurement facility but to offer consulting in experimental design for metabolism related analyses to provide optimal results. It is also to provide and develop analytical methods to address a broad spectrum of biological questions. The unit comprises state-of-the-art instruments including LC-MS, IC-MS and GC-MS instruments (with Orbitrap, QQQ, QToF and QTRAP mass analyzers).
