TheFaculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences(FHSE) brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences. People from across 20 disciplines are working within the Faculty. Along with thedisciplinaryapproach a very ambitious interdisciplinary research culture has been developed.
The faculty’s research and teaching focuses onsocial, economic, political andeducationalissues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society. The FHSE offers four Bachelor and 15 Master degrees and a doctoral school providing students with the necessary knowledge and high-qualified skills to succeed in their future career.
The successful candidate will be work in the Institute of Education & Society (in the Department of Social Sciences) and a member of the Doctoral School in Humanities and Social Sciences.
The doctoral candidate will conduct research leading to the completion of a doctoral thesis in the sociology of (higher) education and/or science studies. Part of a small, multicultural research team working with Justin Powell, the successful candidate will have demonstrated interest and experience in the sociology of (higher) education, (comparative) higher education, research policy, bibliometrics or related fields.
