Position: We have an opening for a PhD position in computer vision, with a focus on cutting edge research in machine learning for detection and classification in images and videos. Research topics for this position may include, but are not limited to, weakly supervised classification methods, image feature design, 3D object reconstruction. Research will be performed in the Computer Vision Group at the University of Bern. The position is available from now and will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found. The post will be closed on the 1st of July 2017.
Your profile: We are looking for a highly motivated candidate, who is eager to get involved in cutting edge, creative research. You hold a Master of Science in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering, with a solid background in computer vision and machine learning. You have excellent skills in applied mathematics, in probability theory, and a programming language (e.g., Python, C/C++). Experience in OpenCL, CUDA/GPU programming are a plus. We expect fluent communication skills in English.
