YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a highly experienced research unit head who will serve as leader and promoter of the highest quality, industry-relevant research in the field of RF integrated circuits and system design for analog frontends. Your tasks include:

  • Experience in system & circuit solutions for RF analog/mixed-signal.
  • Supervision of design architecture selection, system to circuit specifications translation.
  • Expe­ri­ence with EDA soft­ware (ADS Keysight, Virtuoso Cadence).
  • Close cooperation and support of scientific and industrial project partners in cooperative research projects.
  • Acquisition, set up and management of research projects together with a variety of industrial and academic partners as well as proposals for national and international grant fundings.
  • Present the unit research results and other KPI´s in scientific journals, international conferences, international summits, scientific boards and relevant events.

YOUR LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management and further development of the research unit Frontend Integrated Circuits and Systems in the division Intelligent Wireless Systems with currently more than 10 scientists.
  • Vision for long-term research opportunities in analog (RF) interfaces / data converters.
  • Effective delegation of research questions to the right combination of SAL scientists for best team performance.
  • Research unit budget and resource planning and controlling.
  • Overall, guiding the research unit towards generation of high-quality research findings, scientific excellence, and economic impact.

YOUR PROFILE

  • PhD degree in electrical engineering, micro-electronics, applied physics or related fields with a specialization in microelectronics, communication technologies, RF systems or (analog) RFIC design.
  • At least 10 years of practical experience in one or more of the mentioned fields.Proven track record of at least 7 years team leading experience in industry and research.
  • Expertise in concept engineering for data converter (DAC/ADC) and analog RF interfaces.
  • In depth knowledge of the worldwide market and the European industrial ecosystem and funding landscape.
  • Contacts within the international semiconductor industrial network is important.
  • Autonomous, well organized and enjoy working in a dynamic and multi-cultural team.
  • Leadership qualities, the ability to inspire, promote and motivate young scientists and researchers to achieve their best performance.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) in occupational group G (G1 salary = EUR 4.582, paid 14 times a year). Your actual salary depends on your experience and qualifications. We offer a salary in the range between EUR 85.000 to EUR 120.000 (annual, based on an All-in contract and bonus).
