Overview:

Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) was established in 1978 as part of an Arab resolution to form the first Arab university specialized in graduate studies, research and training in security sciences. Since then, the university has played a key role as the Scientific body of the Arab Interior Ministries Council (AIMC). As a regional organization, the university holds an observer member in many regional and international organizations’ councils, such as the UNODC and INTERPOL. 

The vision of the university is to be the premier institution to educate the next generation of Arab experts and leaders in Security sciences. To achieve this vision the university has recently announced its new strategy 2019-2023, where many initiatives have been launched. Those initiatives include establishing many centres of excellence in areas such as Cybercrimes and Digital investigation. Located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the university currently offers graduate programs in areas such as Criminal Justice, Criminology, Counterterrorism, Nuclear security, and Financial integrity.

Position Background:

The College of Criminology invites applications for positions as an Assistant/Associate/ Full Professor of Criminology.

Minimum Qualifications:

NAUSS seek an Assistant/Associate/ Full Professor position who has content area expertise in Criminology. Candidates for this position will offer at least two years’ experience in teaching the post-graduate level or equivalent. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to innovative pedagogical strategies and mentoring students. Also, they should be actively engaged in research.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

The candidate’s teaching interest should be consistent with our academic program, including interest in contributing to our graduate program. Likewise, must demonstrate expertise in the core courses and electives in Criminology majors. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated intercultural competence with diverse groups in teaching, research, and/or service.

Duties:

Faculty are expected to teach multiples units per academic year, develop an active research agenda and participate in activities serving the department college, university, and local community.

• Sample of written work. At least 2 published papers in relevant journals (Scopus, ISI, etc.) in the correspondent field.

• Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including sample student evaluations of instructions.
