About CESFRA 

The Center for Soil and Fertilizer Research (CESFRA) of UM6P is established to serve and support the African nations in their undertakings of transforming the agricultural sector through fostering scientific and technological innovations. CESFRA, as an African-oriented center, has much to contribute and offer to the development of knowledge economy of the African continent so that the fabrics and setting of the traditional agriculture is modernized. 

CESFRA is seeking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral fellow in new fertilizer formulations who will be member of the UM6P-IFDC project under the umbrella of P Flagship program. 

Responsibilities of the Position 

The intended postdoc fellowship will be engaged broadly in the novel P-based fertilizer product with the specific activities highlighted below. 

  • Prepare a literature review on a wide gamut of fertilizer product development. 
  • Participate in designing new fertilizer product development. 
  • Contribute to product formulation. 
  • Conduct laboratory testing and incubation studies of the newly developed product 
  • Conduct greenhouse and field-based experiments using test crops. 
  • Conduct statistical data analysis and modelling. 
  • Publish results in high impact factor journals and 
  • Prepare technical reports. 

Qualified applicants should have the following skills: 

  • Ph.D. in fertilizer science or chemistry or fertilizer formulation or product development or related fields 
  • Vast experiences in using instruments such as ICP-MS, GC-MS, XRD, FTIR, and etc. 
  • Experience with R software 
  • Experiences in fertilizer product development and test 
  • Experience in data analysis and modelling 
  • Proven ability to publish in scientific peer-review journals. 
  • High motivation and interest in scientific work. 
  •  Excellent command of English and
  • Excellent presentation skills.
