The University of Wuppertal invites applications for a

The position will be based within the School of Mechanical Engineering and Safety Engineering.
The position is to be taken up as soon as possible.
We are looking for an excellent researcher, who is experienced in engineering education in the field of vocational and/or adult education. A major focus of the research activities will be the empirical investigation of technology-related teaching and learning processes at the interface between technology didactics, engineering sciences and educational sciences.
The responsibilities of the professorship include the design and implementation of didactic courses in bachelor and master's degree programs in the professional field of electrical engineering and the corresponding small professional fields, the supervision of theses, and the active support of young scientists.
In cooperation with the Chair of Didactics of Technology (W3), the profiling and further development of the dual Master of Education, as well as cooperation with universities of applied sciences in the training of teachers, represent further key areas of activity. In this context, the willingness to cooperate in the projects of the Quality Offensive in Teacher Education of the University of Wuppertal is also expected. Cooperation in academic self-administration is regarded as a matter of course.
A prerequisite for application is proven scientific expertise in at least one or more of the following fields:
Furthermore, the person to be appointed is expected to have a degree in engineering or natural sciences, a teaching degree with an associated, at least very good doctorate and scientific achievements beyond the doctorate.
In addition, experience in the acquisition of third-party funds and the management and leadership of working groups is expected. Experience in the development of innovative models for teacher training courses is also desirable.
Besides pedagogical suitability, which has to be proven by appropriate previous experience or, in exceptional cases, demonstrated by excellent performance during the appointment procedure, the applicant is expected to have a particular aptitude for scientific work substantiated by the outstanding quality of a doctorate. Further scientific achievements must be demonstrated additionally and will be evaluated exclusively and comprehensively during the appointment procedure. They include junior professorships, habilitations, employment as a research assistant at a university or at a non-university research institution and scientific positions in business, in administration or another social field in Germany or abroad.
The successful candidate is expected to actively support academic autonomy at the university.
