At the University, Food Chemistry and Food Development unit (FCFD) and Functional Foods Forum (FFF) bring together the multidisciplinary expertise for the research and development of high-quality and healthy foods of the future.
In a joint “Blue Welfare” project, funded by European Fisheries Fund, FCFD and FFF develop new fish-based food concepts in cooperation with Finnish fish industry. The project consortium includes FCFD, FFF, VTT, Luke and Aktion Österbotten ry.
Food Chemistry and Food Development now invites applications for a
a fixed term position from 1.9.2017 to 31.5.2019 at Turku.
The post-doctoral researcher develops analysis methods, process technologies, and product concepts for fish-based food products. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree from Food Science or Biosciences or related fields. Expertise and working experience with food protein or lipid analysis or technologies will be considered an advantage. The applicant needs to have good social skills and the ability to conduct independent scientific work. Good English language skills is required, and Finnish or Swedish abilities desirable. In addition to research, the successful applicant is also expected to take on some teaching duties in guiding students in the laboratory and master thesis work.
The salary is determined in accordance with the universities salary system (for teaching and research personnel). The salary is within the demand levels 4–5 where the work specific salary component is 2,475.31–2,865.30 €/month. In addition, there is a share increase based on the personal performance, which is, at most, 46,3% of the base salary.
There is a trial period of four (4) months.
