The Industrial Engineering and Management Unit (IEM) is recruiting a senior research fellow. IEM is part of the Faculty of Management and Business (MAB) at Tampere University and offers education in the fields of engineering at the BSc, MSc and doctoral levels. Researchers at IEM are known for their broad and multidisciplinary collaboration that addresses the latest societal challenges. We take part in multidisciplinary projects with the different faculties and research groups at Tampere University and actively collaborate with other Finnish and international universities and research institutes.
The unifying theme of research at the IEM Unit is sustainable value creation in technology-driven organisations, through which our research is linked to four major global challenges: increasing complexity, changes in the logic of value creation, the need for sustainable development and social change. Our five research groups specialise in the following research areas:
Job description
The senior research fellow will join the Industrial Engineering and Management Unit and its Project and Service Management (CROPS) research group. The successful candidate will perform the following tasks in her/his respective area of expertise:
The senior research fellow’s specific teaching and research orientation will be discussed and agreed with the candidate during the recruitment process.
Requirements
The position of senior research fellow requires a minimum of one year of post-doctoral research experience, a strong publication record and previous involvement in acquiring research funding. We appreciate experience of working with companies. We expect the candidate to be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and have a serious intent to develop as a member of an international scientific community. The position requires fluency in the English language. Finnish language skills are considered as an advantage.

The position will be filled on a permanent basis. The planned starting date is 15 August 2024 or as mutually agreed. A trial period of six months will apply.
The salary will be based on both the job requirements and the employees’ personal performance in accordance with the Finnish University Salary System. The position of a senior research fellow is placed on the job demand levels 6-7 (teaching and research staff). A typical starting salary is around 4300-4600 €/month.
