Assistant (100%) Urban and Spatial Planning

The Faculty of Architecture groups the academic architecture programmes (Interior Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design & Spatial Planning, Educational Master) of the Sint-Lucas campuses in Brussels and Ghent. Driven by a carefully curated diversity of practices, the faculty is known for its forward-looking education that cultivates a freedom of exploration and experimentation. There are currently around 2200 students, 350 of whom are international students.
For the Master in Urban and Spatial Planning at the Faculty of Architecture, we are looking for an assistant who will conduct research within a doctoral track and assist within the teaching program.

Profile

• You hold a Master's degree in Urban and Spatial Planning, or a degree that can be assessed as equivalent, with distinction. If you have another Master's degree with distinction, clearly indicate in your application file an interest in and experience with these fields through relevant teaching, practical, and/or research experience. 
• You have a sense of reflection and know how to pass on the topicality of urban and spatial planning within a constantly innovative pedagogical approach.  
• You have good communication and social skills to work in a team.  
• You can work independently.  
• You have a perfect command of the Dutch language (written and spoken). Knowledge of English is considered an asset.  
• You are willing to work at both the Brussels and Ghent campuses. KU Leuven opts for a hybrid working environment, where a combination of on campus and home working is possible.

Offer

We offer an employment of 100% for 2 years, as assistant (scale 43) starting 15 September 2024. After positive evaluation of the teaching assignment and doctoral research, the appointment is renewable up to a maximum of 6 years in total.
