Our group develops innovative particle-enabled approaches to address pressing clinical needs in diagnostics and drug delivery in close collaboration with clinical partners and academic institutions around the globe. In this Swiss National Science Foundation funded project, you will characterize mineral particles naturally occurring in human soft tissues, and especially in the human placenta. You will explore the origin and the clinical implications of soft tissue calcification in collaboration with the University College London (UCL) and the Cantonal Hospital of St. Gallen (KSSG). You will have the opportunity to work in a very interdisciplinary, dynamic environment at the forefront of the field and in continuous exchange with physicists and medical doctors.
